How to Add/Remove Copy to Folder and Move to Folder in Context Menu in Windows XP/ Vista or Windows 7

To copy / move selected files or folders to a different location usually we first mark/select the file/folder, right click on it, then copy and then go the final location to paste it. But you can easily copy/move files using ‘Copy To Folder’ and ‘Move To Folder’ options from context menu. Just right click on the file, click ‘Copy/Move To Folder’, point the destination and you are done. To mark several files or objects press ‘Ctrl’ while clicking those objects.

Default Location of ‘Copy/Move To Folder’ Option:

By default this two options are located in the Edit menu. But it still disgusting for me to use them.

NOTE: You can also use keyboard shortcuts to use them while the files are being selected that you want to Copy or Move to another folder.

• Copy To Folder – Pressing Alt key press E then press F
  
• Move To Folder – Pressing Alt key press E then press E

But when added to context menu, you can do this clicking the right button easily. Select your desired folder where to copy/move, like the images below and you are done.

Remove Copy to Folder & Move to Folder from Context Menu:

◊ To Remove Copy To Folder Automatically from Context Menu:

• First download the .reg file clicking the Download button below.
  DOWNLOAD
• Accept in all window as before and you are done.

◊ To remove Move To Folder Automatically from Context Menu:

• First download the .reg file clicking the Download button below.
  DOWNLOAD
• Accept in all window as before and you are done.

To add Copy / Move to Folder in Context Menu Manually:

• Open the Start Menu.
• In the white line (Start Search) area, type regedit and press Enter.
• Click Continue if prompt.
• In regedit, go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTAllFilesystemObjectsshellexContextMenuHandlers

◊ To add/remove Copy To Folder Manually:

• Right click on ContextMenuHandlers in left pane and then go to New > Key.
• Put {C2FBB630-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13} as name and press enter.

NOTE: To delete copy to folder option, right click on that key, then click on delete.

◊ To add/remove Move To Folder Manually:

• Right click on ContextMenuHandlers in left pane and then go to New > Key.
• Put {C2FBB631-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13} as Key name and press enter.

NOTE: To delete Move to Folder option, right click on that key, then click on delete.
