How to Enable the Task Manager in Windows

Sometimes virus affects your computer in front of your eye but you don’t know how. When results come then we realize something happened. One such type of result is not to able to open task manager. When you attempt to run task manager in says Task Manager is disabled by administrator or appears as greyed. This may happen because has changed the settings or virus/malware affects. Here is the solution below.

We discussed here about two methods of solving the problem. Choose anyone, all are very easy.

Method 1: Using Registry Editor:

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and open Notepad. Write this few lines in that file.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem]
"DisableTaskMgr"=dword:00000000

Now click Save As from File menu of Notepad and save the file as taskmgrenable.reg. Locate it anywhere on your hard drive.

Go to the location of the file and you will see the file like in the snap below.

Now double click on that file and you will see a note Are you sure you want to add the information in X:…taskmgrenable.reg to the registry? Click Yes and you are done. Now you can run task manager.

Method 2: Using Run Command:

Press Windows + R together or go to Start > Run. In the box write the command below:

REG add HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /

When it is in, like the snap below press OK and then you can run task manager fully.
